3 The Bankruptcy Code is divided into the following Chapters: Chapter 1 — General Provisions Chapter 3 — Case Administration Chapter 5 — Creditors, the Debtor, and the Estate Chapter 7 — Liquidation Chapter 9 — Adjustment of Debts of a Municipality Chapter 11 — Reorganization Chapter 12 — Adjustment of Debts of a Family Farmer or Fisherman with Regular Annual Income Chapter 13 — Adjustment of Debts of an Individual with Regular Income Chapter 15 — Ancillary and Other Cross-Border Cases As a general rule, Chapters 1, 3 and 5 apply in cases under Chapter 7, 11 or 13. Chapter 1 and Sections 307, 362(n), 555 through 557, and 559 through 562 apply in Chapter 15 cases. Except for those specific Sections referenced in Section 901, only Chapters 1 and 9 apply in a Chapter 9 case. See generally 11 U.S.C. § 103.
